By submitting the form, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. This platform is provided solely as a means to advertise freelance services. Neither Edinburgh Innovations Ltd nor the University Court of the University of Edinburgh ("we", "us", "our”) is a party to any contracts or agreements between freelancers and clients.
  2. We do not collect, process, or handle any payments between freelancers and clients. All financial transactions and arrangements are solely between the freelancer and client.
  3. We are not responsible or liable for:
    1. Collecting or facilitating payments
    2. Any missed, late, or incomplete payments
    3. Any disputes arising from transactions between freelancers and clients
    4. The quality, timeliness, or completion of any freelance work
    5. Any other issues that may arise from the use of our platform or subsequent engagements between freelancers and clients
    6. Ensuring that any freelancer or client complies with the terms of their student visa, or for any issues that may arise from any failure of a freelancer or client to do so.
  4. Your permission to use this platform is entirely at our discretion and such permission may be withdrawn by us at any time;
  5. We do not guarantee that this platform will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of the platform for business or operational reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.
  6. Other than personally identifiable information, which is covered under our Privacy Policy, any material you transmit or post to this Platform shall be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. We shall have no obligations with respect to such material and we shall have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such material for any purpose. We also have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any material posted or uploaded by you to this Platform constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.
  7. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from the Platform any material:
    1. that is threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, seditious, offensive, pornographic, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, menacing, scandalous, inflammatory, blasphemous, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy or which may cause annoyance or inconvenience; or
    2. for which you have not obtained all necessary licences and/or approvals; or
    3. which constitutes or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise be contrary to the law of or infringe the rights of any third party, in the UK or any other country in the world; or
    4. which is technically harmful (including, without limitation, computer viruses, logic bombs, Trojan horses, worms, harmful components, corrupted data or other malicious software or harmful data).
  8. You may not misuse this Platform (including, without limitation, by hacking).
  9. We have the right to remove any material or posting you make on the Platform if, in our opinion, such material does not comply with the provisions set out above or for any other reason whatsoever. In addition, we shall fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting any material in breach of the provisions set out above.
  10. Freelancers are independent contractors and not employees, partners, or agents of Edinburgh Innovations Ltd or the University Court of the University of Edinburgh.
  11. This platform is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We disclaim all liability, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any losses or damages incurred through use of this platform.
  12. You confirm that you are a student at the University of Edinburgh, or that you have graduated from the University of Edinburgh within 2 years of the date of submission of this form.

  14. This agreement is governed by Scots law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
