In our latest iteration of Power Her Up we’ve collaborated with Keystone Women who have developed and delivered an 8 week holistic business programme. Allowing female students and alumni to design a working life that brings together their personal vision and their business mission.
Some of the key outcomes of the programme were:
Our participants were supported along the way by the Keystone team, a designated Enterprise Officer and an experienced Business Adviser that helped them navigate all the resources and support. Upon successful completion of the course, participants could apply to an exclusive grant of £2,000.
Through our two 2023-2024 cohorts, we supported 18 entrepreneurs working on diverse startups and social enterprises in different sectors. Some had a clear environmental mission, such as Fly Farmer, an innovative agritech company that upcycles fruit waste to grow black soldier fly larvae. Others were socially driven, like the Edinburgh Centre for Psychodynamic Therapy, which aims to make mental health support accessible and inclusive for all. Additionally, we also supported tech-based businesses with outstanding commercial potential, such as Concinnity, which aims to make gene therapy safer using the power of AI.
"Working with the team at Power Her Up was quite unique- everyone was there for the students. It was a breath of fresh air to walk the talk when it came to supporting the students. The team there really understood the barriers to more female entrepreneurs and were committed to doing something different. The women we worked with through the programme were all so dedicated to their enterprises and their studies. Many women also worked and some had families. It is a lot to manage which is why we were really happy to support through our programme, which is a holistic approach to setting up and growing a business, designed specifically for women." - Danielle Trudeau, Founder of Keystone Women
